A mi jefe con cariño. (Parte I) / To my boss with love. (Part I)

me exige brillo mientras apaga mis luces.

She is the blade that doesn’t cut, but bleeds,
routine turned into poison every morning.

Her voice doesn’t command: it buries.

Her presence doesn’t watch over: it stabs from within, unhurriedly.

Each dawn is a verdict:
another day under her long shadow,
another gulp of this air that smells of defeat,
another proof that enthusiasm rotted on her desk.

She demands goals while clipping my wings,
she demands brilliance while extinguishing my lights.

Her «good morning» is a death certificate for my spirit.

Her smile, a reminder that she enjoys seeing me broken.

I’ve come to hate the ceiling of this office
because it’s the same sky she stains with lead.

I’ve come to mistake the ticking of the clock
for the countdowns no one asked for.

And in the darkest moments,
when the weariness is no longer of the body but of the soul,
I have thought that perhaps eternal rest
hurts less than another of your reports with corrections in red.

Por ti / For you

Por ti / For you

Pasos firmes, aunque a veces cansados,
forjo en el día un futuro brillante,
pues en el sudor que voy dejando
hay un eco dulce: tu risa constante.
Hay una luz de esperanza: verte logrado.

Las horas pasan, y el mundo murmura,
mas en mi corazón, siempre presente,
está la razón de mi lucha dura:
tu bella sonrisa, tu mirar reluciente.

At the rooster's crow, I rise,
with dreams woven of golden threads,
tracing paths I haven't yet reached,
but I am guided by the love you have given me.

With firm steps, though sometimes weary,
I forge a bright future each day,
for in the sweat I shed,
there is a sweet echo: your constant laughter.
There is a light of hope: seeing you succeed.

The hours pass, and the world murmurs,
but in my heart, always present,
is the reason for my hard struggle:
your beautiful smile, your shining gaze.

It is for you that the wind carries my song,
for your dreams that I build the path,
and although life sometimes demands so much,
you are my strength, my guide, and my destiny.

There is no greater gift than seeing your smile,
in your eyes, hope is reborn,
and so every day, piece by piece,
for you, my child, my love, I work constantly.

deja arrugas en manos que antes fueron fuertes;

Loads on your shoulders, broken dreams,
longings that the wind mercilessly took away,
gazes lost in seas of platforms,
where hope drowns in solitude.

A barrage of criticism floods your mind,
returning every day to the whipping of your desk,
thinking if the effort will be enough,
trying to please someone who does not deserve it.

Time, cruel teacher that steals laughter,
leaves wrinkles on hands that were once strong;
the days lengthen in a dull breeze,
and the soul, tired, clings inertly.

But, among the shadows, the light sometimes dances,
an old memory that beats again,
in the warm embrace of trust,
where sorrows begin to emerge.

So we move forward, between tears and laughter,
with our heads held high, our gaze on the sun,
even if the weight of haste overwhelms us,
life is a journey, begging for love.

Abuso laboral / Workplace abuse

Abuso laboral / Workplace abuse

y no siempre compensar,

Rogues inquisitors of freedom,
vile dividers of teams and friends,
between photocopies they stifle my creativity,
scoundrels asking for meaningless reports.

They schedule appointments, after hours,
an overwhelmed agenda of meetings.
Harassing words, they judge with their eyes,
to the one who is sane, still with hope.
Idealist who believe in change,
exhausted men who have no rest.

Mothers see their children's youth pass by on a screen.
Miserables see numbers before sweat and tears.

I, alone, see an empty monitor,
a screen that, something, would like to tell me,
a shower of emails in my tray,
and my life that weighs, with each wait,
my position, in this company, an illusion,
several years following, the same pattern.

A manual that no one will read,
indicators that no one will understand,
speaking Spanglish looks very fashionable,
It doesn't make money, but it attracts people.

The most tortuous room is the office,
teary eyes, sad faces and living dead.

Laws that favor the most shameless,
employees who dream of reaching heaven,
without knowing that the fall will be higher, towards the ground.

In Latin America, we are still slaves,
raw material for a market,
only wanted to exploit us,
and not always compensate,
to those who believe that they do something important,
for his family, his people and his country,
to the one who believes that something important does
for believing in the owners and the richest,
who paint us a happy world,
their world of peace.
