El idealista que alguna vez fui. / The idealist I once was.

El idealista que alguna vez fui. / The idealist I once was.

There was a time when I believed life was summed up in a stable job, eternal love, a warm home, and a car that would take us on family adventures. I dreamed of that Hollywood movie that promised happy endings effortlessly.

But reality has its own scripts, and mine turned out to be written in invisible ink. Fifteen years later, I’m still jumping from job to job, as if the ground beneath my feet would never solidify. My marriage, once a refuge, has become a mirage: the woman with whom I shared promises is now someone I barely recognize.

And then there’s my son, a tiny being of light and shadow, diagnosed with type 2 autism. Sometimes I feel like I’m living with a miniature alien: I love him madly, but I can’t always understand him. The economy took over our home, and today we’re nomads dependent on our parents, while the family car has become a taxi with no fixed destination.

My family is a puzzle of broken pieces: a half-brother lost in a game with a toxic girlfriend, parents who looked the other way when the bomb exploded, dysfunctional in-laws—one a fugitive from the law, the other trapped in her own limited world.

I am the man who carries the pieces. Sometimes alone, sometimes together, but always burdened by the weight of what could have been but never was.

I realized too late that I was an idealist: I hoped that a supernatural being, a miracle, would suddenly open a portal and take me to that perfect world I dreamed of. But miracles are rare, and religion—as Nietzsche said—is sometimes nothing more than the opium that lulls people to sleep.

Today I know that the only magic that exists is determination, discipline, and perseverance… but always anchored in reality. Knowing the world you live in, accepting its rules, and flowing with it—not against it. Playing the hero only brings pain.

If anyone reads this, let them know: don’t expect magic portals. Build with what you have, love with who you are, and move forward without empty hopes. Life isn’t a movie… but it can still have glimpses of beauty amidst the chaos.

In the whirlwind of this fast-paced life,

where time does not run, it slides,

stress, silent, imprisons us,

and it consumes us slowly, without rush.

Invisible killer who tortures without mercy,

the dreams, the hopes and the smiles,

He drags us into a deep pit,

of tension, fatigue, and anxiety.

Cruel enemy, accomplice of time,

that makes us forget the joy.

Even more so in the constant and dark struggle,

You remind us of how old we are becoming.

How we seek balance! Calm!,

If the tyranny of your many tasks,

steals our peace.

Veneno / Poison

Veneno / Poison

At the doors of an enclosure, an elixir is prepared,
marriage appears, like subtle poison,
in a bottle of promises, words that deceive,
a concoction that intoxicates, but at the same time weighs,
for what is to come.

Commitment, like a bitter liquor,
It flows through the veins, incessantly compelling.
The promise, like a poisoned pact,
a nectar that at first seems blessed and sacred.

Laughter, like laughing drops of poison,
They dance in the air, weaving a pleasant duel.
Words, like subtle distilled poisons,
They are intertwined in promises, but they are taut threads.

Passion, like fire that burns and consumes,
It can turn into flames that destroy.
Caresses, like expensive antidotes sought,
Sometimes they are lost, in buried memories.

In the brew of marriage, latent duality,
a toxin that caresses, but also lies.
Bliss and torment, in infinite dance,
a toxic that intoxicates, but also withers.

Thus, nuptials, like subtle poison,
an elixir that can heal or be lethal and vile.
In the waters of love, caution is required,
for in its very essence, the poison is acquired.

Como te veo. / As I see you.

Como te veo. / As I see you.
Si lo anormal fuera regular,
cómo yo te vería.
Si lo inesperado fuera lo deseado,
cómo todos te veríamos.

En un mundo tan variado,
¿Habría espacio para mí?
En un mundo alterado,
¿Tendrías un espacio para mí?

Lo único constante es el cambio,
pero el cambio trastorna,
el orden regular de una realidad,
que ya nadie controla.

Altera mis sentidos,
afectando mi corazón.
Pero, ¡Quién soy yo!
para auto cegar tanta belleza.
Un viejo siglo sin cultura,
con entendimientos del ayer.

Debemos invertir el orden,
de ingenuos ignorantes,
no aceptan tu naturaleza,
A la fuerza buscan encasillarte.

Yo amo tus fortalezas
y veo en tu esencia, el cambio.
Para enseñar al mundo las diferencias,
entre dependientes inalterables,
de tu innovador encanto.

Oigo Tus ojos al cielo
Y siento tu ligera sonrisa,
Esa energía interminable
con enigmático silencio,
Hablan a mi corazón, diciendo:
“Te amo, Padre.”

If the abnormal were regular,
how I would see you?
If the unexpected were the desired,
how we would all see you?

In such a varied world,
would there be room for me?
In an altered world,
would you have a space for me?

The only constant is change,
but change upsets,
the regular order of a reality,
that no one controls anymore.

It alters my senses,
affecting my heart.
But who am I!
to self-blind so much beauty.
An old century without culture,
with understandings of yesterday.

We must reverse the order,
of naive ignorant people,
They don't accept your nature,
By force they try to pigeonhole you.

I love your strengths
and I see in your essence, the change.
To teach the world the differences,
between unalterable dependents,
of your innovative charm.

I hear your eyes to the sky
And I feel your light smile,
That endless energy
with enigmatic silence,
They speak to my heart, saying:
"I love you father."
