Dos enemigos en la sombra. / Two enemies in the shadow.

Dos enemigos en la sombra. / Two enemies in the shadow.

Within my mind lies a battlefield,
two specters fight without truce or wall.

One is called Desire, fiery and ardent,
with dreams of fire and a burning pulse.

The other is Duty, serene and severe,
with its cold armor and its cold judgment.

One cries: “Fly!”, with longing and yearning,
the other whispers: “Think, this is not your heaven.”

Desire is a river seeking its course,
without law, without borders, without restraint, without a willow.

It is the voice of the soul, voracious and sincere,
the pure temptation, the first flame.

Duty is the wall, the law, the scales,
the ancient weight of trust.

It is the long shadow of what was promised,
the sure course, even though it has suffered.

They fight in silence, in every decision,
one with promises, the other with reason.

Desire brings pleasure, but sometimes ruin.
Duty brings peace, but sometimes suffocates.

Not every longing deserves a helping hand,
not everything logical heals the summer.

Sometimes Desire wins,
and then sows the lost harvest.

Other times Duty triumphs, with its precise order,
and the soul is left yearning for a heartbeat.

An echo of "what if…?" that never fades,
a subtle thorn that time cannot stifle.

Two intimate enemies, eternal adversaries,
in the same breast, two daily sanctuaries.

I learn, though slowly, to listen to both:
to Duty with respect, to Desire with fear.

Because only at the point where vigilance coincides
the awakened conscience that does not repent,
Desire is not an executioner, Duty is not a chain,
but two signals from the same way.

Teresa / Therese

Ver a tus nietos comer sano, tu legado perdura.

cocinar, lavar, planchar, tejer, podar y sembrar

Gracias abuela.

Under the weight of the sun, she bravely advances.
Her hands are tired, but her steps are firm.
There is humility in her face. Her love is power.
Every day was a challenge, every night, a hug.
With hands of history and eyes of heaven,
you wove me thousand stories, of gentle longings.

You lived In the kitchen, doing alchemy,
seeking to educate, this kid with your magic.
That childhood at your side, stops me in time,
my senses attentive with anxiety.

The party. The noise. The dances and the family.
The laughter resonates, remembering happiness.
In her bustling home, stories flourish.
They create memories, awesome stories.

With the years the burden feels heavy,
but her brave heart, sacred strength.
Raising alone is love, is strength and is life,
is the radiant glow of a shining star.

Even if time passes and your steps slow down.
Even if I no longer see myself in your eyes.
Even if you give up that habit you like so much,
Seeing your grandchild eat healthy. Your legacy's alive.

Forever my saint, your love guides us,
In the purple month, you wisdom never give up.
How important your role was in my story.
You taught me to fight. You taught me to live with glory.
You taught me to cook, to wash, to iron, to knit, to prune and to sow.
You taught me to treat women as should be done.
And you taught me to love, more than ever, my own family.

Thank you, grandma.
Thank you, forever.

El poeta melancólico. / The melancholic poet.

El poeta melancólico. / The melancholic poet.

In the dark corners of time,
where joys are an ephemeral wind,
life is found, a sad canvas,
a restless sea, a pending path.

Life, suffering, unfolds in a thousand forms,
in long nights, in huge storms,
in every farewell, in every goodbye,
in every wound, in every dishonor.

Tears are her secret language,
the echo of an illusion, which becomes obsolete,
a melody in the dark,
a whisper lost in the immensity.

Life is a dream, a theater of shadows,
a masked ball, a castle of jokes,
where laughter is the only currency,
and frustration, its eternal condemnation.

But, don't give up on the challenge,
although the cold burns in your chest,
Although life seems like a desert,
There is always a way, there is always a port.

Life is sad, yes, but it is also beautiful,
a rose that is born in arid land,
a star that shines in the frightful night,
a hope that is never extinguished,
the life of a poet that has not yet ended.
