Dos enemigos en la sombra. / Two enemies in the shadow.

Dos enemigos en la sombra. / Two enemies in the shadow.

Within my mind lies a battlefield,
two specters fight without truce or wall.

One is called Desire, fiery and ardent,
with dreams of fire and a burning pulse.

The other is Duty, serene and severe,
with its cold armor and its cold judgment.

One cries: “Fly!”, with longing and yearning,
the other whispers: “Think, this is not your heaven.”

Desire is a river seeking its course,
without law, without borders, without restraint, without a willow.

It is the voice of the soul, voracious and sincere,
the pure temptation, the first flame.

Duty is the wall, the law, the scales,
the ancient weight of trust.

It is the long shadow of what was promised,
the sure course, even though it has suffered.

They fight in silence, in every decision,
one with promises, the other with reason.

Desire brings pleasure, but sometimes ruin.
Duty brings peace, but sometimes suffocates.

Not every longing deserves a helping hand,
not everything logical heals the summer.

Sometimes Desire wins,
and then sows the lost harvest.

Other times Duty triumphs, with its precise order,
and the soul is left yearning for a heartbeat.

An echo of "what if…?" that never fades,
a subtle thorn that time cannot stifle.

Two intimate enemies, eternal adversaries,
in the same breast, two daily sanctuaries.

I learn, though slowly, to listen to both:
to Duty with respect, to Desire with fear.

Because only at the point where vigilance coincides
the awakened conscience that does not repent,
Desire is not an executioner, Duty is not a chain,
but two signals from the same way.

Viaje en el tiempo / Travel in time

Viaje en el tiempo / Travel in time

Volver a aquellos días, borrar nuestros malos ratos.

I wish to travel with you, ten years into the past.
Go through the fog of time, I will be with you again.
With the bravery of a lion and the certainty of a sea,
I long to return to that time, where everything was shine on us.

Your eyes, two stars that shone in the night,
Your smile, a sweet song that appeased my fears.
That time, where everything was simple and nothing mattered,
To that idyllic past, my heart desperately dragged you.

The clock, a tireless enemy, always advancing,
Our golden past, little by little, is being erased.
But in my mind they persist, too many bright memories,
Of time with you, of constant love.

How would you like to go back ten years?
Go back to those days, erase our fights.
Running on the beach, laughing in the sun,
Always remember you, as my only love, as my only one.

But reality is harsh, and time does not forgive,
He advances without ceasing, no matter who he abandons.
Though the clock ticks, and the past fades,
My love for you endures, in every verse I make.

In the corner of my heart, where memories sleep,
I want to take you to that place, where time does not hurt us.
And although I can't promise real time travel,
I offer you a journey through these views, a dream trip with you.
